Heat 3A - Joe McCord

Once again two Indiana teams faced each other as the U3 Miss Chrysler Jeep and the U6 Oh Boy! Oberto were placed in the same heat. Along with the 25 Superior Racing proved to be a great race. Steve David driving the U6 was the boat to beat. Muscatel, his crew feverishly worked to get the boat into the water and pushed away from the dock with 2:15 left before the start. Lane one would go to Muscatel, lane two David and lane three would be taken by King. David led the trio out of the first turn and lead down the backstretch. King charging hard, while the Oberto was riding as smooth as ever, would settle for the second place. Oberto lead through the second lap as King would keep the pressure through the rest of the race. Oberto lead by three rooster tails as he took the checkered flag. Second would go to King. Third to Superior Racing
