Heat 1B - Joe McCord

Three boats were to answer the call for the second heat here today. The U37 Miss Beacon Plumbing, driven by Jean Theoret, which had to do a quick engine change right before the heat. The U-13 Spirit of Detroit, driven by J Michael Kelly. U100 Mirage Racing driven by Greg Hopp. What looked to be a cake walk for the U37, turned out to be a real fast heat. Lane one went to Theoret, two to Hopp and Kelly was in three. J Michael Kelly jumped the gun as the rest of the field was legal.  He received a one lap penalty. Theoret never had any threat from Hopp as he was not going to push the equipment for this heat settling for second place points. They finished up the heat with Theoret in first, Hopp in Second and J Michael Kelly taking third place.
